Cruising is a great way to see the world and have a lot of fun at the same time; however, there are some essentials you need when cruising that you may not have thought of! Here are some awesome deals on Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days 2023 to snag before your next sailing!
ELECTRONICS
Power strip with USB ports: Cruise ship cabins are often limited on outlets, so a power strip with USB ports is a must-have. This will allow you to charge all of your electronics at the same time. Make sure that you choose an option that is cruise ship approved!
Portable phone charger: Even with a power strip, it’s a good idea to have a portable phone charger as well. This way, you can stay connected even when you’re not in your cabin. I love the MagSafe style chargers.
Travel Charger: My favorite is the 3-in-1 travel charger that allows you to charge your phone, AirPods and Apple Watch all on the same charging station. This one is currently 25% off!
Waterproof phone case: If you plan on doing any swimming or sunbathing, you’ll need a waterproof phone case to keep your phone safe.
PACKING & ORGANIZATION ESSENTIALS Cruise cabins are EXTREMELY small, so having a way to organize your clothing and personal items while on board will help create a more relaxed environment.
Packing cubes: Packing cubes are a great way to organize your luggage and save space. I prefer the compression style packing cubes, as I feel they really maximize your space the best. These are currently 20% off!
Cruise luggage tags: Cruise luggage tags will help you ensure that your tags will be protected on your luggage and that it finds its way to your room. Each cruise line provides slightly different size tags, so be sure you search for the correct line when ordering. These are my favorite for Royal Caribbean tags.
Lanyard for your cruise card: You need your cruise card to open your door, get on/off the ship and to purchase anything on board (including drinks in your drink package) so having it easily accessible is a great idea!
Magnetic hooks: Magnetic hooks are a great way to hang towels, swimsuits, and other items in your cabin, as the walls are metal.
Travel Backpack: A good travel backpack is a smart investment to make if you fly often. My favorite brand is Tumi, as they are SO functional and come with an incredible warranty. Keep an eye out on these, as certain colors will often go on sale. For instance, right now, the desert red bag is marked down to $357, while the original price is $475!!!
Travel first-aid kit: A travel first-aid kit is always a good idea to have on hand, especially if you’re traveling with children. Get this one for 20% off!
Over the Door Organizer: Maximize cabin space by using an over the door organizer for toiletries, sunscreen, etc.
MISCELLANEOUS In my 30+ times on board a cruise ship, these are just a few additional items that I have found to be helpful on board!
Drink Flavoring Packets: There are very few low calorie / no calorie options other than soda on board. I like to bring crystal light as a mixer in lieu of loads of sugar throughout the day.
Hylands Motion Sickness : This homeopathic motion sickness medicine is the first one I’ve ever taken that actually stops motion sickness once it starts. Great to have on hand just in case!
